Archean Eon Art - Chapter 481: Painting
In a restaurant at Snow Wind Pass.
“Make way, make way.” A waiter carried a wooden tray. A large bowl of porridge, a steamer full of buns, and a plate of flatbread laid on top of the wooden tray. He carried it and walked towards the customers on the second floor.
Suddenly, the bowl of porridge, the steamer full of buns, and the plate of flatbread vanished from his wooden tray. At the same time, a piece of silver appeared on the wooden tray.
“Oh?” The waiter’s eyes widened in shock. “Where’s the porridge? Where are the buns? Where did the flatbread go?” The waiter was somewhat dazed. He carefully picked up the silver piece and rushed to the first floor. “Uncle, Uncle, look.”
Meng Chuan remained seated at the table. A bowl of porridge, a steamer full of buns, and a plate of flatbread appeared in front of him.
“Breakfast is ready.” Meng Chuan turned his head to the side. The dining table was empty save for him; he was the only one there.
“I have to get used to being alone.” Meng Chuan lowered his head and ate as he did in the past. He ate the porridge, buns, and flatbread in large mouthfuls.
Soon, he finished everything.
Still sitting by the table after his meal, Meng Chuan finally understood what he had to do now. I have to continue cultivating. The human world and the Demon realm are gradually nearing each other, causing more World Entrances to appear. We still haven’t won the war completely. I have to become stronger. Only by becoming stronger and facing danger will we not need to awaken Qiyue. If she doesn’t awaken, she’ll never have to cast Phoenix’s Nirvana, which would risk her life.
If we lose this war, it will be a calamity for humanity. Countless Godfiends’ efforts will be in vain. We’ve already sacrificed too much. We have to win. I have to cultivate. Meng Chuan walked into the courtyard with Demon Slayer hanging by his waist.
He unsheathed his saber.
Meng Chuan frowned before swinging his saber.
He repeatedly swung his saber for ten minutes, attempting to cultivate. However, he had to stop when he realized his mental state wasn’t in the right place.
My heart is affected. I can’t focus on cultivation at all. Meng Chuan frowned as he stood in the courtyard. If I don’t focus on my cultivation, I won’t be able to improve.
Whether he was trying to reach the perfected Grotto-Heaven realm with the Cloud Dragon Snake Movement Technique—which was currently in the Grotto-Heaven’s late stageor if he was trying to make Infinite Saber a paramount technique, the most basic requirement was to be fully focused whenever he cultivated.
If his mind was bombarded by stray thoughts, making him constantly distracted, there was simply no way he could make any progress.
I can’t control my thoughts. What should I do? Meng Chuan pondered how to solve this problem.
Ordinary emotions could be thrown to the back of one’s mind. They would be forgotten very quickly once one stopped thinking about them. However, emotions that truly affected one’s life could never be forgotten, even if one was a peerless genius. Back then, King True Martial had been unable to recover from his emotional setback. He was stuck at this nadir for a long time. Did he want to sink into oblivion? No! King True Martial also wanted to cultivate and become stronger. However, the emotional setback had caused him to doubt his entire cultivation path. Due to these doubts, he couldn’t continue traveling that path.
In the end, King True Martial didn’t forget everything that happened before his emotional setback. He just created a new path and followed it until he died.
What should I do? Meng Chuan pondered. His intense loneliness and longing for his wife couldn’t be suppressed.
It’s better to let everything loose than blocking the flood. I’ll vent all my intense emotions. Furthermore, I’ll vent them completely. After I vent all my emotions, it might be much easier. Meng Chuan made his decision. The best way for me to vent my emotions is to fuse them into my paintings. Starting from Snow Wind Pass, I’ll travel to all the places Qiyue and I once lived. I’ll fuse every memory and intense emotion into my paintings.
After making his decision, Meng Chuan began painting Meng Chuan spent two days and two nights painting this ordinary courtyard at Snow Wind Pass. This was the place where Meng Chuan and his wife had lived the longest.
He then went to Jiang State Capital, which he had many fond memories of. He had once lived an incognito life in an ordinary residence and taught his children as they grew up. He had also guarded Jiang State Capital…
He even went to Chu An City, Changfeng City, Duyang City, and other places. As a guardian Godfiend, Liu Qiyue frequently swapped defenses. Meng Chuan also moved to those different residences with her. To the couple, no matter where they lived, they would always be at home as long as they stayed together.
He went to Gu Mountain Prefecture.
Gu Mountain Prefecture City is completely abandoned. Meng Chuan arrived at the manor that the couple had once lived in. Half a year ago, the couple had come here and cleaned the
place.
Back then, Qiyue and I lived incognito at Gu Mountain Prefecture. We hunted demons and reinforced the various cities in the region. Meng Chuan looked at the manor. This is also where Qiyue got pregnant and gave birth to An’er and You’er.
The couple stayed in Gu Mountain Prefecture for six years. At that time, they were young and outstanding. The couple worked together to crush any foes.
Meng Chuan sat on a stone bench and painted the days when his wife was pregnant. He also painted scenes of An’er and You’er in their swaddling clothes. The couple coaxed their children. He also painted scenes of him and his wife working together to kill the demons and reinforce the cities.
North River Pass.
Meng Chuan arrived at the abandoned North River Pass.
He went to the manor that the couple had once resided in.
After the couple left Archean Mountain, they were deployed to North River Pass. They fought here for a while. This was also where they got married and became husband and wife.
Meng Chuan stood in the familiar abandoned mansion and vaguely saw the day of their marriage.
Zhang Yunhu, Fan Cheng, Shi Xiu, Yu Chiyan, Yang Xingwu, Mu Qing, Dean Ge Yu, and many other friends witnessed Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue bowing to the world and officially becoming husband and wife.
Most of those friends and family members had died. Some had died on their sickbeds, while others had died when battling the demons.
Archean Mountain.
After painting at North River Pass for two days, Meng Chuan arrived at Archean Mountain. He didn’t visit the Supremacies; he returned to his cave abode.
“King Eastcalm.” The steward of the cave abode had changed. It was a female steward with the surname He. The former Steward Liu had long passed away from old age. “I’ll stay here for a few days,” said Meng Chuan.
“Yes.” The female steward immediately arranged for the servants to clean the place.
Meng Chuan looked around the cave abode and recalled the days when he and his wife cultivated on the mountain. This was where he and his wife had promised to spend the rest of their lives together. They promised that they would fight on the battlefield together. They also promised that they would fight the demons until they died. They would be together forever in life and in death.
They created 11 years of beautiful memories here.
As Meng Chuan painted the various scenes, he occasionally smiled. His feelings for his wife transferred into his brush as he painted the various scenes.
After painting for two days and one night, Meng Chuan left the cave abode at midnight and arrived at Blood Red Cliff.
Hum.
Countless Godfiend images appeared on Blood Red Cliff.
As Meng Chuan stared at the countless images of Godfiends—which had left behind before they left the mountain-he immediately saw himself and Liu Qiyue.
Back then, he was dressed in a dark-cyan robe, a pair of battle boots, and had Demon Slayer hanging by his waist. His robes fluttered in the wind. Liu Qiyue was dressed in a cyan-red robe. The color of her robe was even brighter than his. She carried a divine bow and quiver on her back. The two looked at each other and smiled brightly. “Why did Blood Red Cliff’s projections
appear?”
Blood Red Cliff was on the main mountain peak. Godfiend disciples often came to the main peak, so they naturally noticed the countless Godfiend projections appearing. Immediately, a Godfiend disciple rushed over curiously.
From afar, he saw a white-haired man standing on Blood Red Cliff and looking at the countless floating Godfiend images.
What happened?
Only Elders can activate Blood Red Cliff’s projections. Who triggered it? Many Godfiend disciples rushed over, but the projections had long disappeared by the time they arrived. Meng Chuan had also left.
Meng Chuan returned to Eastcalm City. He arrived at Mirror Lake Manor—the place they had first met.
Although a few servants maintained Mirror Lake Meng Manor, nobody dared to move in. After all, this was King Eastcalm and Queen Calmmoon’s old house.
Meng Chuan walked through the familiar residence; the layout was the same as before. When he was eight years oldBack then, Meng Chuan, who thought that his mother was dead, cultivated crazily. His father’s good friend, Liu Yebai, led a timid little girl to Mirror Lake Meng Manor. It was then that he became acquainted with the little girl. Afterward, they cultivated together as they grew up. Meng Chuan sat in the residence’s training grounds. Under a huge tree-where he had cultivated his saber drawing stance in the past – he painted his childhood memories.
He painted at Mirror Lake Meng Manor for three days.
As he traveled, Meng Chuan first painted his recent life before painting his childhood memories. He first painted his memories at Snow Wind Pass. From there, he painted the memories he made at Jiang State Capital, Chu An City, Changfeng City, Duyang City, Gu Mountain Prefecture City, North River Pass, Archean Mountain cave abode, Mirror Lake Meng Manor at Eastcalm City-in that particular order. All of these painted memories were part of a super-long long painting. These memories made a very long painting; it was 153 feet long. It was the longest painting Meng Chuan had painted to date.
The painting depicted the memories he had of Liu Qiyue. From the right, it was the first time the two met each other; the years that they grew up together; the battle in Idle Stone Garden; the demon invasion which caused Liu Qiyue’s bloodline to awaken and Meng Chuan rushing over to rescue her… The painting depicted scenes of their lives until the couple both had snow-white hair.
The white-haired Meng Chuan painted while the white-haired Liu Qiyue watched from the side with a smile. This memory depicted the scene of Meng Chuan painting for his wife before she entered the slumber in Archean Mountain’s Millennium Hall.
Boom!
The extremely long painting was partially rolled up and partially floating.
Meng Chuan sat under a tree at the training grounds. He looked at the completed painting and felt a little dazed.
He picked up his brush and wrote a few words on the right—’I hold your hands; we will grow old together.’
